Lakeshore College Foundation awards over $367,000 in scholarships

The Lakeshore College Foundation awarded $367,851 in scholarships to 332 students during its fall scholarship cycle. Sixty-three percent of them were awarded as full tuition scholarships, leaving recipients with no tuition bill for the academic year.

College, Candy, & Costumes Returns to Lakeshore College

Lakeshore area families are invited to College, Candy, & Costumes, a free Halloween celebration taking place Saturday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to noon, on Lakeshore College’s Cleveland campus, in the Nierode building.
The fourth annual event offers trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, popcorn and sipping on some delicious apple cider.

Lakeshore College student Sienna Schreiber has received a $1,000 Chime Workforce Scholarship from the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation. The new scholarship recognizes high-achieving two-year college students who are pursuing career and technical educational opportunities.

Lakeshore College Sheboygan Location Moving to 1 University Ave.

Lakeshore College’s Sheboygan campus is moving from 1320 Niagara Ave. to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Sheboygan campus at 1 University Dr. Lakeshore College will begin holding classes at its new location, which it will share with UW-Green Bay, on Sept. 2.
The two institutions are working together to update signage at the property to reflect Lakeshore College’s move there.

Lakeshore College awarded $1.36M to provide TRIO Student Support Services

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Lakeshore College a federal TRIO Student Support Services grant totaling $1.36 million to improve college retention and graduation rates among low-income students, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. Lakeshore will receive $272,364 annually for the next five years.

Lakeshore College Swears Board Members In & Elects Officers

Lakeshore College’s District Board of Trustees incumbent member Monica Nichter has been reappointed to the board. Newly appointed board members Abbey Quistorf and Mary Parrish, along with Nichter, were sworn in at the board’s organizational meeting July 14.
Officers elected for the next term include Nichter, chair; Kim Rooney, vice chair; and Don Pohlman, secretary/treasurer.
