Lakeshore College is Committed to Accessibility for All

Lakeshore College is committed to providing an accessible website that is usable for the widest possible audience, regardless of ability. We work to continuously improve the accessibility of our website and strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA conformance standards or higher.

Lakeshore College is implementing the following initiatives to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards:

In February of 2026, Lakeshore College secured an external consultant to complete an accessibility audit of 883 pages on the Lakeshore.edu website. A contract was secured through an expert third-party to remediate non-compliant issues discovered in the audit. This remediation will be completed by April 2026.

Additionally, Lakeshore College has secured a web governance tool to monitor and scan the website. This tool will consistently and continually monitor the website for accessibility issues. Any issues will be remediated on a regular monthly basis by the Lakeshore College Web Development/IT team.

Lakeshore College has also engaged a campus-wide committee to identify accessibility limitations throughout various internal departments. Each department employs a representative. A third-party consultant has been hired to add a monitoring tool to platforms and applications, provide annual educational staff training, and online learning tools for campus employees. Additionally, the committee has developed and implemented an ADA Policy for the campus.

Lakeshore College’s Marketing Department has instituted creative protocols for video, print, and digital materials to meet the WCAG guidelines.
