CLEVELAND, WI —
Lakeshore College Culinary Arts Program Coordinator/Instructor Amanda Weber has been named one of the “Top 20 Women in Hospitality to Watch” by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association.
According to the association, the award launched in 2024 to celebrate women who are breaking ground across all sectors of Wisconsin’s vibrant and diverse hospitality industry. Nominees were judged on criteria including ability to inspire and positively influence others, exemplary work, leadership, character, and resilience.
Weber will be recognized at the Women in Hospitality Conference taking place October 20 in Madison.
“Chef Amanda’s success is no surprise to us at Lakeshore College, where she leads our culinary program with passion, innovation, and dedication. We are proud to have her on board here inspiring students each day as she helps them pursue technical excellence and personal growth,” said Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen.
Weber’s initiatives reflect a deep understanding of the challenges facing both students and the hospitality industry: food insecurity, educational access, environmental impact, and mental health well-being.
Key accomplishments include spearheading a food sustainability initiative that redistributes excess culinary lab ingredients into free meals for food-insecure students and families, the development of dual-credit culinary programs that offer high school students college-level experience, incorporating composting into the culinary program’s curriculum, and serving as a mental health first aid instructor.
