CLEVELAND, WI —
Dr. Paul Carlsen, president of Lakeshore College, has been named a 2027 Wisconsin Titan 100 recipient, recognizing his leadership, innovation and impact on higher education, workforce development and the regional economy.
Carlsen is the only Wisconsin technical college president named to the 2027 list and has been the only representative of Wisconsin’s technical college system recognized since the Titan 100 Wisconsin program began in 2023.
The Titan 100 recognizes Wisconsin’s top 100 CEOs and C-level executives for their leadership, vision and contributions to their industries and communities. Together, the 2027 honorees and their companies generate more than $39.4 billion in annual revenue and employ more than 41,000 people across the region and beyond.
“Wisconsin’s Titan 100 are redefining business with vision and purpose, setting new standards for growth, innovation, and impact. These trailblazing leaders inspire transformation across industries, uplift communities, and drive meaningful change. We proudly celebrate their legacy of excellence and unwavering commitment to shaping a brighter future for all,” said Jaime Zawmon, president of Titan CEO.
Since becoming president of Lakeshore College in 2017, Carlsen has led significant initiatives to expand educational opportunities, strengthen workforce development and respond to the evolving needs of students and employers. Under his leadership, Lakeshore has become a statewide leader in competency-based education, expanding flexible, student-centered learning opportunities. He also helped advance transfer pathways through university partnerships, expanded programming in high-demand fields such as healthcare and commercial truck driving, and championed investments that strengthen the region’s workforce and economy.
Carlsen’s leadership extends beyond Lakeshore College. He serves on the board of directors of the American Association of Community Colleges, the New North board, the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation board, and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum board. Through these roles, he advocates for innovative approaches to education, stronger institutional partnerships and solutions that address workforce needs across Wisconsin and the nation.
“I’m honored to be recognized among Wisconsin’s Titan 100. This recognition also reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, students and community partners. At Lakeshore College, we work together to create opportunities that help individuals succeed, strengthen our workforce and contribute to thriving communities. I’m proud of what we’re accomplishing together and look forward to continuing this work to make a lasting difference across our region,” Carlsen said.
The 2027 Wisconsin Titan 100 honorees represent a broad range of industries, including education, construction, finance, manufacturing, technology, healthcare and nonprofit leadership.
Carlsen will be honored at the 2027 Wisconsin Titan 100 Awards on Jan. 21, 2027, at Fiserv Forum.
