OSHA 30 Construction

This course covers in depth construction safety and health hazards training for those with some safety responsibilities. Topics include Managing safety & health on the job site, in-epth OSHA focus 4 hazards, excavation, scaffolds, stairways/ladders, foundations for safety leadership, industry specific electives available for example concrete and masonry construction, hazard identification, avoidance, control, & prevention.

OSHA 10 Construction

this course covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards that a worker may encounter at a construction site. Great for new workers in the field. Topics include Intro to OSHA, rights & responsibilities, Focus 4 hazards, falls, electrocution, struck-by, caught-in or between, PPE, material handling, health hazards in construction.

Tractor Safety

This seminar focuses on safe tractor operation and accident prevention, covering essential topics such as equipment inspections, rollover protection, proper operating procedures, and hazard awareness to help reduce the risk of injury on the farm or worksite.

For many culinary students, baking is either a beloved comfort zone or an intimidating frontier. But at Lakeshore College, baking and culinary instructors Chef Ben Reynolds and Chef Amanda Weber see it as something much bigger: a foundation for real-world readiness.

“We want students to see baking as an essential part of their culinary toolkit. Not every restaurant has a dedicated pastry chef. Often, chefs are tasked with everything—from appetizers to dessert—so giving students the fundamentals helps prepare them for the realities of industry.”

The image of manufacturing for some people brings up images of grimy factories filled with the clatter of machinery and workers carrying out labor-intensive processes. However, modern manufacturing has undergone a dramatic transformation, evolving into a sleek, technologically driven powerhouse.

As we wind down National Manufacturing Month, we’d like to share with you just how valuable modern manufacturing is to our Lakeshore community and the important connection our college has to it.

AI for Trades and Manufacturing

This session highlights how AI can be used to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in trades and manufacturing. Participants will explore applications such as predictive maintenance, inventory optimization, quality control, and job scheduling. The course emphasizes solutions that reduce downtime, improve cost control, and support skilled workers. Attendees will leave with practical ideas for applying AI to solve real operational challenges in their industry.

Using AI to Improve Business Performance

This course focuses on how AI can enhance business operations, marketing, customer service, and decision-making. Participants will learn how automation can streamline workflows, reduce repetitive tasks, and improve accuracy. The session includes strategies for using AI to support planning, forecasting, and overall business efficiency.
