High-Demand Programs & Waitlist Process

When the number of applicants exceeds the available seats (in an associate degree, technical diploma, or certificate program) with limited capacity, students are placed on a waiting list. As seats become available, students are admitted from the waiting list into technical courses based on application completion date, time, and residency status. In addition, students are required to have all academic preparedness items completed, if applicable. Requirements vary by program and can be found on each program’s webpage. If you have been accepted into a program and placed on a waiting list, the following overview explains the process.

How It Works

Follow these four steps to join the waitlist, maintain your position, and secure your seat when one becomes available.

1

Step One

Join the Wait List

Apply and select your desired program.

You are placed on the waitlist based on:

  • Completed application date and time
  • Residency status

Residency Priority

  1. Lakeshore College District residents (Calumet, Manitowoc, Ozaukee & Sheboygan Counties)
  2. Other Wisconsin residents
  3. Out-of-state applicants

Step Two

Confirm Your Interest

Stay active on the wait list each semester.

Each semester you will receive a Program Waitlist Decision Form. This form confirms your continued interest in the program.

Summer & Fall

Spring

  • If your program has a once a year start, you will only need to confirm your interest prior to the term the program starts.
    • *E.G. Radiography starts only in spring so the decision form is only completed in September.
Important: Respond within 14 calendar days or you will be removed from the waiting list.

Step Four

Register for Courses

Complete your enrollment to secure your seat.

Once you accept your seat, register for your required technical courses before the stated deadline, which will be communicated each semester.

Failure to register by the deadline will result in removal from both the waiting list and your program. To continue, you'll need to reapply to the waiting list.

Important Reminders

  • Respond to all waitlist communications promptly and accurately.
  • Check both your Lakeshore student email and your personal email every day.
