August 13, 2025 -
Thinking about your next step? Whether you’re fresh out of high school, changing careers or returning to school after years in the workforce—Lakeshore College is ready when you are. And, there’s still time to enroll for fall semester.

A Smoother Path to Enrollment
The admissions process has been streamlined to make each step of the way smoother, and without stress. Here’s how it works:
- Apply Online
- Complete a short questionnaire about your classes
- Meet with an academic counselor to set goals and register for classes
Extra paperwork—like background checks and health forms—also have been removed from the application process.
“We heard from many students that navigating college can be challenging, and there’s a lot of people and steps to know. So, we listened to student feedback to make that easier.”
-Foua Hang, Executive Director of Enrollment/Retention
Personalized Guidance from Day One
At Lakeshore, you're not just a number. From day one to graduation, you’ll develop a connection with and have comprehensive support from one academic counselor who knows you and your goals. No more repeating your story to a dozen different offices. Instead, you can expect to build a consistent relationship built on trust with your counselor and navigate the college experience without confusion.
“Once a student has said Lakeshore is the college they want to go to, their counselor will be that one person who is knowledgeable that they can consistently go to about their program and its requirements,” Hang noted, adding that they really are the “experts or specialists in their programs” who work closely with Lakeshore faculty and deans.

Designed with Students in Mind
For those considering Lakeshore, Hang shares the college is very student-focused.
“We listen to the student and what their strengths are, their concerns and how do we set them up to succeed from day one? How do they navigate their first class? Whether it’s getting their books or reading their schedule or where their classes are held, we really do focus on the student, making sure that we answer their specific questions,” she said.
This can include topics such as affordability and accessibility. Lakeshore offers online, in-person and other options to meet student learning styles. Hang notes that academic counselors also encourage students to engage with their instructors and proactively use the resources they have been given.
Setting Students Up for Success
Lakeshore is more than a college—it’s a launchpad. We make sure you graduate with not just knowledge, but the real-world skills employers are looking for.
“We are teaching students how to communicate and use many of the systems they will use in the workforce. It is a partnership. We’re going to do our part to help support them to be successful,” Hang said. Ensuring students are equipped with the soft, technical and interpersonal skills employers are seeking is a key component to the process. On the most basic level, this includes how to appropriately check and respond to communications.
Take the First Step Toward Your Next Goal
Hang encourages everyone to take the first step and begin by contacting Lakeshore.
“Our college recruiters are excited to meet our prospective students and help them figure out what that next step is,” she shared.
“We have students who are coming right out of high school who have graduated, and those adults who have been in the workforce for a number of years. We have retirees who have come back. Lakeshore really does have a place for everyone here whatever that next goal may be.”
