Honor Student Graduate Recognition
Presidential Honors Graduate
A student who has achieved a program grade point average of 4.0 is recognized by wearing an honor medallion with a gold ribbon.
Honors Graduate
A student who has achieved a program grade point average of 3.50–3.99 is recognized by wearing a gold, white, and blue cord.
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an international honor society for two-year colleges to honor students who have exemplified outstanding academic credentials. Membership is offered to students who have completed 12 or more associate degree credits, with a 3.50 grade point average or higher. Phi Theta Kappa members wear the PTK gold honor stole.
GED/HSED Honors
Honors are based on the credential. The General Equivalency Development (GED) certificate is earned through a series of exams. Honors are earned by scoring a minimum of 640 points. The High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) 5.09 is earned through coursework. Honors are earned by achieving a grade point average of 3.70 or higher.
Military Service Personnel
In recognition of military service to the United States of America, students who are honorably discharged U.S. veterans, are currently serving in the U.S. military (active duty, National Guard, or Reserves), or will be commissioned upon graduation, are given the opportunity to wear a red, white, and blue honor cord.
